On Tuesday, Houston Texans linebacker, Jacob Martin, made a special virtual visit to Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Centers patients ahead of Sunday’s Kids Day game presented by Texas Children’s Hospital. A robot dressed in Martin’s jersey went room to room as if he was on-site at the hospital. During this time when in-person interaction is limited, this surprise brought many smiles to patients and their families.

Who’s ready for Super Bowl LV? The Houston Texans and Texas Children’s Hospital selected four of our vaccinated health care heroes to attend Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Fla. this Sunday, Feb. 7. Dr. Matthew Pesek, medical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus, nurses Matthew Rivera and Bhumi Patel, and respiratory therapist Kaitlin Hernandez, will attend the big game as guests of the NFL. What started out as a cold led Gracie and her family to a series of doctor visits, an ICU stay and eventually through the doors of Texas Children’s Heart Center.
