In July, 13-year-old Mac Barrow was diagnosed with a mild case of COVID-19, but recovered well. In August, after falling ill with what his parents thought was a stomach bug, he was taken to Texas Children's Hospital’s Emergency Center for further evaluation. This resulted in a diagnosis of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, or MIS-C, a rare delayed consequence of COVID-19 infection.
