As Texas continues to re-open during COVID-19, we're still doing our essential services, just as we always have this entire time.
We're taking necessary precautions to stay safe, but you can help us as well! Thank you for letting us serve you - and thank you for playing your part in letting us do ours!
Someone's trash is someone else's treasure! As part of our commitment to divert waste from the landfill, we reclaim and repurpose items that are gently used and in working condition at the Citizens Convenience Center and make them available for purchase in our Resale Center.
The Resale Center operates Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm or sunset, whichever occurs first. We have items for sale ranging from furniture, tools, appliances, books, electronics, clothes, toys and more. Come check us out or visit our website for more information!
With masks and other items related to the pandemic becoming everyday occurrences, we find our customers asking for our guidance on how to dispose of these items properly. Most items you can put into the trash but there are a select few that can be recycled. Here’s a graphic to reference when you next dispose of your pandemic related waste.

As the Mobile Pantry program adapted to mass distributions to serve more families at a time, not all locations had restrooms and handwashing facilities onsite. Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) generously donated clean, air-conditioned restroom trailers for our volunteers and staff to use at distributions in Austin and Kyle from May to December. Additionally, TDS employees have taken the time to volunteer at our distributions. Thank you, TDS!

The MRF processes more than 50,000 pounds of recyclables each hour including glass, cardboard, paper, aluminum and plastics creating an efficient way to reduce waste.

With the big game coming up this weekend, here are a few tips on how to tackle waste and recycle correctly during football’s main event. 🏈
1. Choose reusable cups and utensils instead of buying single-use disposable plastic varieties. This helps divert more waste from the landfill and into recycling centers.
2. Remember to empty bottles and cans before placing them in your recycling cart. 3. Pizza boxes can be recycled if they are free of residue or grease. If your pizza box does contain food residue, please dispose of it in the trash. Remember to remove all non-cardboard items from your pizza box before placing it in your recycling cart.
Enjoy the game!
Wondering what to do with your old electronics? Tossing electronics into the trash can be harmful to the environment since they often contain toxic substances like mercury and lead, so it's important to know your disposal options!
TDS accepts certain e-waste items including laptops, computers and cell phones for drop off or you can take them to your nearest electronic recycling center. TDS tip: Always make sure to wipe any personal data from the devices before getting rid of them.
Visit us at https://www.texasdisposal.com/processing/metals/ for more information.
