Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, “to meet Pan Am stewardesses.” Suddenly, there was a place with great food, new and exciting drinks and an electric energy. A place where bartenders mixed the environment just as well as they mixed drinks. In short, a place like nowhere else. Today, Fridays in Effingham, IL is still America’s most iconic bar and grill. Problem here is it says the place is open until 11, I came in at 9:15, sat at the bar, and was told I had 5 minutes to order food bc they were closing....
The bartender was great on a Sunday night at 9:40pm. When YELP had the incorrect closing time of 11pm on a Sunday night but this location closed at 10pm....
