My fondest memory of Thanksgiving is still my Mom’s sweet potato casserole. My brother and I would always fight over marshmallows or pecans…so my Mom would do both and it stuck for me! The chef in me always likes putting a modern spin on the classics such as twice baked sweet potato casserole. Of course, we can’t play favorites so we use marshmallow and rum soaked pecans. I like to keep things interesting with using smoked cinnamon in the filling and finishing with a drizzle of buttermilk crème fraiche.

🥃 On the nose: peach, apricot, oak, caramel, a hint of mint⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🥃 On the palate: grapefruit, maple sugar, vanilla fudge, sea salt⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🥃 Notes: This particular rye is distilled from a mash bill of 95% rye, and 5% barley. It is separated into three different distillates that are all aged in different vessels: 63% is aged in madeira casks, 30% is aged in French sauternes barrels, and 7% is aged in port casks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
