Please come on down to the Barrel House on Oct. 25th for our 4th annual Winter Coat giveaway. It's that time of year again where we at the Barrel House realize there are some in need of the essential items needed to keep warm in our cold Dakota winters. So if you or your children are in need please come down between the hours of 2pm-4pm. As in years past the coats and other essentials don't last long, we try to help as many as we can.
If your are able and have gently used winter items please feel free to drop them off at the Barrel House.
Time to announce our 6th guest chef! We would like to welcome Chef Jon back to The Barrel House! Without him the connections would not have been made and this dinner would not have been possible!
Chef Frizzell started working in restaurants during high school, and quickly fell in love with creative aspects of the kitchen.
He would later move to the Twin Cities to attend college and went on to work with many talented chefs across the area for the next few years. Desiring to expand his knowledge further he would later move to NYC to work with some of the finest chefs the city had to offer.
After a few years he worked his ways through the ranks to become the executive chef of Nocciola. A few years later he relocated to Sioux Falls to be closer to family, and went on to help with the opening of The Barrel House, but after a while he was drawn to return to where his culinary career got it's start.
He has spent the last couple years working for Chef Justin Sutherland as the Chef de Cuisine of the award winning restaurant The Handsome Hog.

Growing up in the heart of Kansas City meant Bryan Gutierrez was no stranger to flavor. From family gatherings around a pit full of meat, anxiously awaiting that first bite of Barbacoa to standing in line for some of Joes Kansas City famous burnt ends he learned early on that food is a family experience.
Less than a month after starting as a dishwasher, a local restaurant gave him an opportunity to be a line cook. His love of flavorful as well as the memories of family brought together by food started the 15 year journey to where he is today.
Bryan has worked in commissary/ Catering kitchens, fine dining restaurants, and most recently was part of the team that opened Wood Fired Cantina in St. Paul. A kitchen fueled entirely by wood has brought new and exciting challenges that are continually inspiring Bryan to try new ways of sharing flavor with his customers, family, and friends.

The day will include a pull-up competition, with epic prize packages going to the top contender in each category, and discounted climbing from 11am-4pm with 100% of the climbing pass proceeds going back to Hungry Hearts.
