To Our Boulevard Community:
We are acutely aware of, and sensitive to the atrocities currently occurring in our country. We want you to know that we appreciate you and we mourn alongside you. We have a wonderful staff serving the amazingly diverse STL community, and we thrive on that array of culture.
To our coworkers, salon guests, and friends who have consistently been impacted by these unfortunately ongoing events, our hearts hurt together with yours. The disturbing events of
May 25, 2020 were unimaginably wrong and inexcusable.
It is our goal to work alongside our community to create a space of healing and safety for all. We pray that the family, friends and community of George Floyd may someday find peace.
To our stylist that are officers wives, to our clients that are officers we under stand that evil is not relegated to a specific occupation. Evil is found everywhere. And our hearts also ache for our heroes in that said occupation that have to now deal with this fall out from this tragedy.
We at the Boulevard will continue to have hope.
Hope that our children will grow up and love one another regardless of their skin color.
Hope the evil in this world will not win.
Hope that people will remember to love one another.
Hope that fear of another person dissipates before judgment of that person can arise.
Hope that people would once again live in wonder, that they will have the courage to ask questions and get to know a person of a different culture or color before making any assumptions.
Hope that no matter your skin color, your belief or political views that if something is wrong you have the power and strength to stand up for whatever that may be.
It’s time to have truthful conversation and confront racism for the evil that it is. We have chosen to celebrate life in all forms and colors. We will not celebrate hate.
This is love. Love is what cancels out evil. Love brings light into the darkness. Love is what will heal. Love is not Racist. Love does not hate. Love is what will bring our communities together. Love is pure.
