I just found my new favorite local dive bar!
Don't let the unassuming signage out front deter you. The place is cozy yet somehow spacious, with two pool tables and a couple of dart boards. When I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, two older dudes at the bar turned around, smiled, and said hello. The bartender was quick and friendly, and they have a dedicated restroom for people with disabilities. The whole place is authentic old-school--the furniture, decor and bar being old but polished, not like a shiny, wood-laminate new spot trying to start a trend. I can't think of a more welcoming local bar than the Bounty Room.
I had read one of the negative reviews here about the new owners and struck up a conversation with a group of regulars to ask about it. Well, it turns out the new owners did NOT increase any prices. From what they said, the new owners upgraded a few things like letting them accept CCs and might be adding some more upgrades for their customers.
All in all, this place is a friendly, low-key, authentic neighborhood spot to grab a few drinks with friends.
