I am so sorry to say that Our beloved Diane Garcia has just passed away. She had a long, 8 month battle with lung cancer and will be missed by all of us at the Brandow clinic. She was with us for 20 years and always helped everyone with her positive spirit and kindness. Our hearts and prayers go out to her family. We will all miss her dearly.
From my 1st television interview regarding kybella (which they cut because I warned people about the potential problems) until today, I have never liked kybella. This is a perfect example of why!! She originally came to me looking for the ‘less-invasive’ option to tighten her neck. I recommended surgery; but instead, she op’ed for kybella. Now, she has a very difficult problem to correct; because, all of the fat under her chin has been melted away, leaving a poorly vascularized, scarred down neck which will be difficult to reoperate on. Beware of kybella and those non-invasive quick fixes!!!!

I can’t believe how shapely this young lady looks, just 2 weeks post op!! And, she looks great in her leggings which she hated to wear before surgery. When I saw her last week, she said “now I can finally see how great I look from all the hard working out I do”. I am so happy for her! This is crazy, in the last 2 days, I’ve seen 4 patient’s who I did a face lift on over 12yrs-15yrs+ ago. This is another, spirited, 84yo who still works and loves to look young. Each year or 2, I do filler and/or Botox and they still look great!! I feel a sense of responsibility to my patients to keep them looking natural after surgery. I tell them “from now on, I’ll be your ‘age manager’, helping you through the aging process, over time” I always do these little things, myself; because, I know their faces better than anyone else. I just wish some of my colleagues would take more responsibility in the of their patients’ follow up appearances. When my patients operate with me, I will take care of them. I just saw 1 of my patients, I operated on yesterday, in the hotel. Her overnight nurse and I removed her dressings, checked her incisions and went over her meds for the week. This little idea of hers was brilliant!!! She used a sharpie to label the tops of her bottles. This is such a great idea!! If ur in pain, at home alone or don’t have ur glasses nearby, having an easy to read label on the top of these bottles makes it much easier to find what you need. Trying to figure out the fine print typed on the sides of the bottle, when you are on pain killers, can be confusing. Para biens!!

My poor little frenchy, lulu, had to have her eye removed 2 weeks ago. For the past 9 yrs, she has had problems. The little one, lovey who is 14months, bugs her still. But, she is being very kind to her and knows something was wrong with lulu. This past weekend, she was finally getting back to normal and went on a few long walks with my wife and I. I needed some outdoor time as much as lulu&lovey did; because, last week, I did 2 facelifts, 2 breast lifts and implant exchanges and 2 big body liposculptings. Then worked all day Saturday at my shore office. I love the variety and 💗 to be busy!!!
I just re-pierced this women’s ears, 6 weeks, after repairing both sides.
These are very tricky cases; because, u can’t re-pierce over the newly repaired scar or it will tear through once again. If you Look closely, you’ll see that the original holes were done in different positions; so, re-piercing must be done carefully and aesthetically positioned to match as closely as possible. The 2nd slide demonstrates my personal technique of ear piercing. Explant surgery (permanent breast implant removal) is on the rise and here is one I fir this morning, where this young lady wanted to remove her silicone implants so she could have a more sensitive/accurate Mamogram. The FDA now mandates MRI’s every other year to monitor silicone implants for leaks, etc. The screening MRI is an ‘out of pocket’ expense many patients are not aware of from the start. Mamogram’s can be used to follow patients with saline implants and are quite accurate for the detection of breast cancer in patients with implants. On the other hand, silicone implants obscure the Mamogram imagining of the breast, making them much less sensitive for screening purposes.
This women wanted her implants out to improve the accuracy of the Mamogram, because of a strong history of breast cancer in her family. Look how great this late 50’s yo woman looks, right in the middle of the pandemic!! She had a tummy tuck with liposuction of her back and hips along with a simultaneous fat transfer to her buttocks(BBL). Then, we waited a year and returned for a second buttocks fat transfer(BBL #2) utilizing left over fat from her abdomen, which I saved for this second surgery.
