Starting Sunday, September 13, The Center for Children and Women has changed its hours for pediatric appointments and pharmacy hours of operation. We are making this change to better serve your needs and make sure your family stays safe. Need to schedule your child’s next well visit or come in for a same-day appointment? Please give us a call at 832-828-1005 or visit jointhecenter.org. The hours for in-person appointments are: Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. You may also schedule a telehealth visit (phone and video) during the following hours: Monday – Friday: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Telehealth visits are available to address a variety of conditions. To schedule an appointment via telehealth or in person, call 832-828-1005. You can also schedule an appointment using MyChart.

As we continue to monitor Tropical Storm Beta, it is very important for all families to remain vigilant and ensure we are all prepared. Dental services at The Center for Children and Women Southwest location will be closed Tuesday, September 22. Dental services at The Center for Children and Women Greenspoint will be opening late. Please call to confirm opening time. The Center for Children and Women will continue operating at normal business hours but this could change depending on the impact of the storm. The Center for Children and Women's Dr. Charisma Garcia explains the steps you can take to help shape our country. 1. First you need to register to vote. You can do this online, through the mail or in-person at your county Voter Registrar’s Office. Aren’t sure if you are already registered? You can check online at votetexas.gov. The deadline for registration is Monday, Oct. 5. 2. Collect your identification. This can be a driver’s license, passport, or TX ID card. If you don’t have any of these, you can apply for an exemption. 3) Locate your polling site. 4) Gather your friends, family and neighbors. 5) Exercise your constitutional right and vote! The Texas General Election is on Nov. 3, but early voting runs from Oct. 20-31. Can’t make it to the polls? See if you qualify to request an absentee ballot. The deadline to request this is Oct. 23. Maternal mortality across the spectrum shows stunning increases in the United States. The exact causes of maternal mortality arise from cultural and medical factors. About 60% of these deaths are preventable, according to the CDC.
