STRABISMUS IS NOT AN EYE MUSCLE PROBLEM Strabismus is a BRAIN issue. Vision therapy is KEY to treating strabismus. It works by teaching the brain to blend the information received from both eyes, thus helping them work together as a team and aligning them. Vision Therapy is safe, drug-free, and effective for both children and adults. Contact us to book your consultation today!
Let’s talk eye focusing! 👀 Our eyes use an automatic eye focusing system in order to see at various distances. The lens structure inside the eye adjusts rapidly to do things like copy from the board (look far, look near, over and over), or maintain focus over time (reading at near). When the eye focusing system has a problem quickly adjusting or maintaining focus, this issue is called an accommodative dysfunction. Symptoms include blurry vision, holding books too close/too far, squinting, visual discomfort and eye strain, headaches and avoidance of reading and writing. Vision therapy can help retrain the eye-brain connection so that the eye focusing system learns how to rapidly adjust focus and maintain focus over time. We specialize in treating accommodative dysfunction at CVD! Give us a call if you or your child may be struggling with eye focusing. #VisionTherapyAustin #VisionTherapyWaco #VisionAndLearning
