Did someone call for a 'Way Back Wednesday?' πββοΈ To say that our Members had a good time is an understatement. π They spent the afternoon dressing up in different clothes from different decades, dancing, and reminiscing their favorite parts of years past. βοΈπΈ Our team even created a Jane Fonda inspired workout that they had the opportunity to participate in to really set the theme in motion. ποΈββοΈ PHC Home Health stopped by in some amazing costumes to do an awesome performance for our Members, safely outdoors! π πΌ It was such a fun day reminiscing on some of our Member's favorite memories! β€οΈ #ALweek2020

Over the last few months, we have been presented with a fight against COVID-19 that was unexpected. πͺ But here at The Charlotte, we were prepared. Each of our team members and departments regularly attends training and are familiarized with the protocols for influenza season and infection control which were both utilized as COVID-19 began. π§Ό By applying proper sanitization practices, obtaining sufficient amounts of personal protective equipment, and implementing changes to our dining, programming, and visitation, our community was able to protect our Members and staff in a quick and safe manner. π Our Guiding Principle is to 'Put People First, Always', through COVID-19, and moving into flu season, our top priority is to ensure that our Members and staff will continue to safely live and work at The Charlotte.

Cardiovascular health is a crucial part of your overall wellness, especially as you age. β€οΈ One way that you can strengthen your heart is by incorporating swimming into your weekly routine. πββοΈ Swimming works to make your heart stronger and improves your cardiovascular health through the gradual increase of a steady heart rate and lowering of your blood pressure. Why are these two bi-products of swimming important? They decrease your risk of heart disease which increases as you age. π

Here at The Charlotte, our dining services program is a staple in the social life of our Members. This time of year reminds us of the joy found around a table with loved ones sharing a meal. Within our dining department, our talented team brings years of foodservice experience to create a variety of freshly prepared meals for everyone in our community to enjoy.
Last year we celebrated the skills of our dining team during our company's Annual Meeting during "The Battle of the Blades". It was a face-off between our sister communities and provided an incredible opportunity for us to showcase the talented dining team here at The Charlotte!
