- Blanton's Gold (Right): The world’s first single barrel bourbon was created in 1984 by Elmer T. Lee. Named after former distillery president Colonel Albert B. Blanton. Elmer recalled how Colonel Blanton would sometimes handpick a ‘honey barrel’ from the center of Warehouse H to enjoy with others. Many years later, the Blanton’s brand was created. Today, Blanton’s Single Barrel has become one of the most revered and award-winning bourbons on the market. The Gold Edition was the second version created, after the Original 93 proof. This 103 proof Blanton’s Gold is very limited, but a favorite among discerning bourbon aficionados.

We are heartbroken for our neighbors at the cheel this week after their devastating loss following a fire in the building. After everything else this year has thrown at small family-owned businesses, this was a horrible addition. The employees who work in this specific small business will suffer as they'll now be without work for some time. We want to help them.
We are working to collect gift cards for the cheel employees who are all affected. Skippys Burger Bar will be purchasing gift cards from Piggly Wiggly Stores for each of their employees.
We will have a donation box set up at Skippy's for gift cards (in any amount) starting today through Saturday November 21st. They can be gift cards for restaurants or stores (think- helping with Christmas shopping!) or it could be to gas stations or grocery stores -- anything you want, anything that might help them through this difficult time.
We will take the gift cards that we collect and give them to Jesse Daily and Barkha Sweata Daily (owners of the cheel) to distribute to their employees. Thank you in advance for your generosity and thoughtfulness!
The outpouring of support from our Friends, Customers, Staff, Village and beyond is so humbling... Thank you so much! We promise that we'll put it to good use. Be well our Friends.

Well folks, the cat is out of the bag! Last night at the Historical Preservation meeting, we were given approval to move forward with this project for the rebuild of the cheel! Looking forward to what this new venue(s) will be able to bring to the table for us, and our community! SO excited to begin the big dig and build!
