A Look Back

From the Denmark News April 10, 1884 issue.

The current, The Coop Bar, located on Highway NN west of Denmark, as it appeared back in the early 1900s. The facility housed a dance hall and was able to host weddings, seating 185 at one time. The building was built back in the 1890s by Charlie Pelishek. In 1984 it was known as Leiterman's Bar and was owned and operated by Carol and Lee Leiterman. Pete and Jessi Matzke currently own and operate the facility known as The Coop Bar.
