Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, MBPD,and Parishioners Catholic Church of St. James, Conway October 4 at 7:38 AM · St. James family, It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the passing of one of our own parishioners, Jacob Hancher. Jacob was a police officer in Myrtle Beach. According to the Chief of Police, Jacob was killed last night in the line of duty. "He was a dedicated public servant, who upheld his oath to protect this community, and made the ultimate sacrifice. He cared about the people that he served, served with, and absolutely loved Myrtle Beach.” Jacob was a missionary on our 2017 mission to Honduras. For those who were able to serve along side him, they learned of his kindness and selfless service. We are deeply saddened by his passing. We ask for your prayers for his family, friends, and fellow officers who are mourning his loss. Eternal rest grant onto him, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him.

Congratulations to Steven and staff at Granny’s Florist, our newest hometown hero. Steven, Christie, and team work all throughout the year being hero’s. This man goes out of his way to help his fellow man and to serve his customers. He is passionate about his work. Even if we are in the same industry, share many of the same customers. He is a dear friend first. Not to mention he has the sweetest Mom! Congratulations Steven to Steven and staff
Congratulations to the Cafeteria staff at Conway High school. Our newest Hometown hero’s. This group is some of the hardest working people you will ever meet. Since the Covid-19 regulations began this group had to pretty much relearn their jobs to meet the new criteria that they were given. This team took the challenge and never looked back. Congratulations to them and thank you for going the extra mile for the safety of the faculty, staff and students at CHS. #Tigerstrong
Say hello to Me! I am a native of the low country of South Carolina. Born and raised in Colleton county. I began my career in floristry at the age of 15. Working with my mentor and father figure, Uncle Dennis at his florist in Walterboro,SC. At a young age I was taught the value of great service, hard work, compassion and the art of being humble to my fellow man. After working many years with my Uncle, at his retirement, I moved to Charleston and specialized in weddings and events. After a freak accident I was nearly permanently disabled. Needing a slower pace in life, I found this beautiful town that reminded me of home and started volunteering here at the Daisy Fair. David Summers welcomed me in to help run his business. We had the same work ethic and for nearly 20 years he and I worked side by side growing his business. When he passed away a few years ago I took over ownership and strive daily to make this business a household name. I am the proud father of one son, Quinn and “papa”to Daisy and Thistle, my fur babies. I am a member of First United Methodist Church. I am very involved In the community and serve on the board of Conway Downtown Alive. It has always been my motto that one must give in order to receive. I support my community as much as I can. This year I started my 45th year in the floral industry as well as celebrating The Daisy Fairs 40th Anniversary. We love and appreciate each of you and thank you for supporting our small business.
