Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement of craftspeople bringing awareness to food insecurity. They support emergency food programs by the sale of beautiful, handmade bowls. The empty bowls evoke hunger, and then they fill it with soup. THIS YEAR, Empty Bowls Troy, NY came up with a clever plan: buy your empty bowl at the Troy Farmer's Market in October and receive a coupon for soup, thanks to our great local restaurants (see list). There has been an update on the low/no water pressure. There has been a main water break which caused massive sink hole near king street. There is a boil water advisory in effect immediately from the City of Troy DPW. We will send updates as we receive them. Thank you.

City of Troy- Massive sink hole has opened up in Downtown Troy on King Street. The sinkhole has swallowed a large tree and a power pole. DPW had shut down King Street. The City Engineer has put up police crime scene tape around the incident to keep the public out of the area. At this time there is no boil water advisory in effect. The pipe size is estimated to be a 24 inch pipe that feeds a large portion of the downtown area and A large portion of downtown Troy has low water pressure or no water at all. The Rensselaer County Health Department has arrived on scene.
