Robert Donoway, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgical oncologist providing cutting-edge cancer treatments and complete cancer care at his practice, The Donoway Center in Hollywood, Florida. He is a leader in his field and was the first oncology surgeon in Florida to perform cryoablation, radiofrequency ablation, and pancreatic and liver ablation therapy using the NanoKnife® irreversible electroporation (IRE).
Dr. Donoway has privileges and operates at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center in Aventura, Florida, as well as Memorial Regional Hospital and Memorial Regional Hospital South in Hollywood, Florida.
After receiving his medical degree and surgical training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Dr. Donoway completed his fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City where he was the General Motors Cancer Research Fellow.
Dr. Donoway is dedicated to education and sharing his knowledge. He has served as a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, University of Miami, and Nova Southeastern University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Donoway has been actively involved in many cancer organizations. He currently serves on the board of Gilda’s Club and is an active member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Previously, he served on the board of the American Cancer Society and as President of the American Cancer Society, Broward County Chapter.
Dr. Donoway has been recognized repeatedly for his service and is a recent recipient of the South Florida Health Award for the use of microendoscopy for the detection of early stage breast cancer. He has been consistently named to “Top Doctors in America” by Castle Connolly.
