Tips for a proper Wing Chun horse stance (used for conditioning, not fighting): Knees and toes go in same direction, pointing towards your opponents centerline. Tuck the tailbone under to form a straight lower back. Keep the weight solidly in the feet and the heels down. As the old masters say, “You’re only as good as your horse”. 😉

All Wing Chun striking targets are along the centerline. The primary targets are where the centerline intersects the primary origin of the limbs (neck/groin). Secondary targets are along the centerline intersection with the secondary origins of movement (knees/elbows). These targets work to simultaneous attack and defend.

And because of their faithful practice of the ritual, they gradually transform themselves. Grounded. Courageous. Peaceful. Secure. Most of the world can’t have this. They aren’t supposed to have it. Only the few earn the right.

96-year-old Ip Chun, the eldest son of martial arts legend Ip Man, discusses how Wing Chun has shaped his life and his mission to carry on his father’s legacy.
There's no need to wear sleeves in order to practice Wing Chun. We started wearing sleeves for hygiene purposes (protection against cuts mostly from fingernails, cut down on exchange of sweat, prevention of dummy arm chafing, and the spread of diseases). Now they feel so comfortable training in them they’re kind of like our work gloves.
If someone says that sleeves cut down on sensitivity, don't believe them. They neither make you more or less sensitive. Remember that sensitive is about pressure, not simply contact.
