100 quilts went to Talent And Phoenix Elementary school children today. Still need another 350 twin or lap size so every child who has lost their home will have something to snuggle with. I've been a bit slow in getting the newsletter out. It should be done in the next week or so. In the meantime, I wanted to provide a couple quick updates:
As always, we need older child and teen blankets. If you are looking for a good winter project, this would be a great one.
The Fiberology Lab in Oak Ridge is now going to a by appointment policy in order to protect their customers. You can still drop off blankets. If you get there and the door is locked, just ring the doorbell. They will be open normal hours, but feel free to call first. 865 294-5612 . As long as they are able to provide social distancing, you are welcome to go in and shop while you are there. Don't forget your mask!
If you have blankets to drop off at any location, it's best to hold them until after the first of the year. Stores, churches and other drop off locations are often very busy during the holidays, have special hours and are accommodating donations for other organizations, so if you can wait until January 2nd, that is best.
