This #GivingTuesday we are encouraging our community to #MoveMoreGiveMore in attempt combat isolation, depression and other mental health concerns as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
So we are challenging our entire Facebook community to get out there and sweat it out as we aim to promote positive mental health through personal fitness! Our goal is to exercise for 20,000 total minutes program wide between now and Dec 1st! Join us!

It was wonderful to meet our new friend and community partner, Mark Jacoby, this afternoon! He is the new executive director of The Foundation for Independent Living [FIL]. We welcome him to the Butterfly Capital of the World! Detective Corey is our liaison with FIL. We look forward to continuing to work together with FIL to make a difference here in Coconut Creek.
A wise man once said, “It takes a village,” and we couldn’t agree more. Our amazing community rose to the occasion and made our dreams a reality. We can now take our Health & Wellness Fitness Program to the next level!
We are beyond grateful for the support of The Community Foundation of Broward, Detective Clint Corey, the CCPD, and the amazingly generous gift from The James I. Coddington, Jr. Charitable Fund!

Good thing Officer Lance Morgan reads all of his emails. Officer Morgan is one of the school resource officers at Atlantic Technical High School & College. Right before the holidays, Detective Clint Corey sent out a department-wide email seeking help from his fellow co-workers to raise money for fitness equipment for our friends and community partners at the Foundation for Independent Living [FIL]. Detective Corey often talks to their members about crime prevention. Officer Morgan read the email and thought he could help. His daughter, Justine, works for the Community Foundation of Broward. He arranged a meeting between her, Detective Corey, and members of FIL. The meeting began the process of FIL securing a $40,000 donation from the James I. Coddington Jr. Charitable Fund. It was $10,000 more than FIL had hoped for! It was great to play a role in securing this generous donation and to celebrate, we produced this little fun video:

We cannot thank the amazing Coconut Creek Government and their super-team for giving FIL the VIP CHARTER TREATMENT! We thought the day would never come, but we have arrived!
