Garage has expensive drinks but cool games. I thought the cover was excessive and my gin and tonic was horrible. It was gin and water. I wish it was better....

This week’s featured game is The Getaway: High Speed II! This pinball machine was manufactured by Williams Electronic Games, Inc and made its debut in February 1992. There are two main objectives for this machine: Run the Red Light and achieve Redline Mania. In order to run the red light, you must lock the three balls by first hitting all three stoplight targets of the same color (first green, then yellow, and finally red) and then shooting the left loop or the small inner loop to lock the ball. After the final lock, Multiball will start. Jackpots can then be lit by shooting into the Supercharger and scored by shooting the left loop or the small inner loop. In order to achieve Redline Mania, you must continuously shoot RPM (outer loops). This will award you gears with the 5th gear being Redline Mania. The bonuses for each gear are: 1st Gear - 3 Million 2nd Gear - Hold Bonus 3rd Gear - Light Video Mode 4th Gear - Supercharger Mode 5th Gear - Light Redline Mania The last gear will light "Redline Mania" which cannot be collected by the gearshift but is awarded by shooting the Supercharger. Fun Facts: -This game uses the song, “La Grange” by ZZ Top, as its theme song. -This machine was designed by Steve Ritchie. Ritchie is the best-selling pinball designer in history and is widely known as “The Master of Flow.” -When reaching the third gear, players can enter a video mode where they will drive at high speeds in three lanes filled with slow-moving cars. Players drive until they crash or pass a certain number of cars.
Get ready for your new favorite cool-weather drink!🍁 As the temperatures dip, keep the sweet heat going with Ooga Booga! This delicious drink uses Oakheart’s Genuine Spiced Rum with Indiana Whiskey Company’s Hoosier Sweet Heat, creating a warm cinnamon base. Next, we add coffee liquor and Angostura bitters. Together these flavors create a mixture that has been compared to a melted cinnamon roll in your mouth. Stop in and try an Ooga Booga! GARAGEARCADEBAR.COM NewHome - Garage Arcade Bar

This week’s featured game is Joust! Joust was released in 1982 under the Williams Electronics name. In this two-player cooperative game, players control knights that ride either a flying ostrich (Player 1) or a stork (Player 2) using the joystick and button. Players must progress through the levels, defeating waves of enemy knights riding buzzards. From a third-person perspective, players control a yellow knight and fly him and his ostrich, guiding the pair around rock platforms that float above a flat island surrounded by lava. The joystick controls horizontal movement and the button controls the ostrich’s wing flaps. The rate of wing flaps determines the horizontal movement. Players must fly at enemy knights using their lances to defeat them. The knight with the higher lance wins. If the lances hit at an equal height, both knights will be sent backward. After an enemy knight is defeated, an egg will be dropped which can be collected for points. If the egg is not picked up, a new knight will hatch and you will have to fight him again. Fun Facts: -John Newcomer led the development team and he wanted to create a popular flying game that didn’t utilize the space theme. -Newcomer took inspiration for Joust from the 1980 movie Flash Gordon. -A Joust-themed pinball table was released in 1983. Tips: -There are three types of enemy knight–Bounder, Hunter, and Shadow Lord. Each wears different colors and are worth different points. -After a certain amount of time, a pterodactyl will appear to hunt you. Be careful not to fly too low though or the disembodied hand of a Lava Troll will reach out of the lava and grab you.

This week’s featured game is Krazy Bowl! 🎳 This 1994 bowling-themed arcade game was produced by American Sammy. This arcade game can be played by one person or two. Krazy Bowl has two game modes, Regulation and Sweeper. In Regulation, you try to knock down all ten pins using the trackball and two buttons. In Sweeper, you have to knock down a certain number of pins the game chooses and each frame, the pins are set up in a different layout. Fun Facts: -Krazy Bowl can also be configured to use a joystick and will sometimes have a third button called Shoot. -Krazy Bowl is one of 14 games produced by American Sammy. -There is a hidden feature in Krazy Bowl allowing players to earn a free credit. When a player gets five strikes in a row, a bonus red head pin frame will appear 50% of the time. If the player strikes for the sixth time, the free credit is earned. (However, all of The Garage’s games are free to play!) Words of Wisdom: -Dinosaurs didn’t bowl & now they are extinct. Coincidence?
