Today was an amazing day.
My team at Old Town Media - OTM captured the process and result of my grandparents (in their mid to late 80s) getting hearing aids and ultimately recovering their hearing after decades of impairment.
Brittany Mathisen and her company The Hearing Place quite literally provided a new life for my grandparents through her professional audiology expertise, supportive nature and a set of ReSound hearing aids for each of them.

Many of my patients ask me why and how I got interested in audiology. Every time my response is my experience in fifth grade at Mountain View Elementary in Broomfield. This is where I learned sign language and made friendships with deaf and hard of hearing peers. I will never forget the days of being taught lessons in both spoken language and ASL. This experience helped shape my interest in helping people with hearing loss.
This is a wonderful story to share about a student at Mountain View Elementary that helped change how hearing devices are covered for children.
