We feel the need to cover implementation of Executive Order 147 (Mask Mandate) by Gov. Cooper for those that may have questions and most especially to avoid the confusion and misinterpretation we’ve heard from some recently on how this order affects our stores.
We also acknowledge although it is our desire, it is just not possible to appeal to all customers over this issue.
The Homeschool Room is 100% compliant with the Executive Order 147 (Mask Mandate).
Social distancing recommendations of 6’ are easily maintained in our stores.
Mask use is required when that space can not be observed.
We recognize not all customers can physically wear a mask and many allowable exceptions exist. Due to HIPPA laws we are not allowed to question a customer as to their mask use or non-use. If a customer does not wear a mask, we will automatically assume they have a an honorable exemption.
Should a customer not feel comfortable shopping currently “in person” for any reason, we are happy to offer phone purchases and curb-side pick up.
We are aware that many local retailers have chosen to add even more restrictive behavior requirements to the current mask mandate (for customers and employees). Those added restrictions are not required by the executive order. Those retailers are choosing (and allowed by the order) to discriminate against their customer base.
We have chosen instead to create added shopping options in order to accommodate everyone.
