The Sentia Amphitheatre on the south side of our campus is the perfect place to have Spanish class with Mrs. K while also taking a break from wearing masks. This special space was named after the Roman goddess Sentia who oversaw the development of young minds.
Sept 25 is Math Storytelling Day which gives us the chance to recognize how math goes beyond basic memorization of rules and relates to our everyday lives. Storytelling is an integral part of teaching math at Janus. Promoting classroom discussion allows students to learn from each other and expand their understanding of math concepts while enjoying the learning process! #mathstorytellingday
Comedian and actor Chris Rock revealed his nonverbal learning disorder which is an often misunderstood diagnosis. Those with NVLD are very verbal and often perform well academically but struggle more in later grades with math, reading, and social skills which can lead to isolation, anxiety, and depression. We applaud Chris for bringing light to his diagnosis and encouraging parents to be aware of NVLD and its impact on students.

When students can’t eat outdoors, clear divider panels in the cafeteria let them safely enjoy their lunches while still being able to see and interact with each other.
When RoseMary’s and Glady’s Science Classes get hands-on with experiments they go outside to help spread out and learn safely.
We are cheering on this very busy spider catching one of the spotted lanternflies covering the trees in our nature area. Every little bit helps!
