The Language Workshop for Children (LWFC) in the Upper East Side is a language learning center for kids as young as six months old. The enrichment program was founded by director François Thibaut in 1973, and has gained international recognition by offering stimulating language immersion lessons in French and Spanish for babies, toddlers, and elementary school children.
The language workshop offers three types of classes:
Parent & Me (for children under three)
Children’s Classes (for children three and older)
Private Lessons
The LWFC is renowned for its patented Thibaut Technique®, a language learning approach which employs both sides of the brain; the left which governs grammar, vocabulary and meaning, and the right which processes emotion and vocal melody. The innovative language program utilizes a series of award-winning, vocabulary-building songs produced by The Language Workshop® in collaboration with professional composers. Every session students receive a professionally produced, durable, and collectable Song & More CD/Workbook Set to practice at home. The Language Workshop produces the multi-award winning Professor Toto Language Education Series, which guarantees young students are getting the best quality materials.
The learning center’s teachers are personally trained by Thibaut himself in his patented educationally effective technique. By using a method which combines carefully structured curriculum and every child’s innate love of play, The Language Workshop takes advantage of the developmental period when children have the greatest capacity to absorb and retain language.
Additionally, The LWFC offers regular preschool, summer camps, and birthday parties! To find out more about New York’s best language classes for kids, visit The Language Workshop for Children online.
