~ END 2020 ON A HIGH NOTE GIVING BACK WITH A PRO BONO SERVICE DAY DECEMBER 19TH
The older generation has legal issues they sometimes don’t know how to handle…here’s how you can give a gift that won’t take any more time than you have available.
On Saturday, December 19, between the hours of 9am-Noon and 1pm-5pm, Lee County Legal Aid Society presents “Just for Seniors,” a free legal assistance day for Lee County residents 60+ that is sponsored by a grant from Cape Coral Community Foundation; and with support from United Way of Lee Hendry Glades and Okeechobee; Lee County Board of County Commissioners; The Florida Bar; Lee County Bar Association; and Conric PR & Marketing.
In 20-minute limited Zoom or by-phone appointments, applicants will be matched with appropriate pro bono attorneys based on the legal issue for which they applied through our website for “Just for Seniors” help. Our office will make the appointment and attorneys with Zoom accounts will then be sent the customer’s contact information and brief description of the issue, along with the appointment time. Once we have a time confirmed between attorney and customer, we will send you an intake form you can use to note time in and time out, and any notes you wish to share. Pro bono hours served will be logged for each attorney and certified by our office. You may take one or several appointments!
Attorneys who wish to participate are encouraged to e-mail me immediately at: Nanci@LeeCountyLegalAid.org with practice area(s) on which they will advise and the time(s) they would be available on Saturday, December 19th. (If you absolutely cannot be available then, but are willing to provide this assistance at a different time, please indicate when and we will make the appointment for you. We are attempting to make this a one-day event, but can adjust in order to help more people!)
