When talking with our teens, one of the most common things they share with us is that they fear that they are too old to get adopted because everyone wants a younger child. Join their journey and become their forever family. Learn more about our teens that are available for adoption at heartlandforchildren.org/gallery or call 863-519-8900 x 223. #adoptteens #teenagers #adoption

Here is the sign up for anyone that wants to help the kids that are living at the CPS office because there is nowhere to place them with COVID-19. Thank you to everyone for any help you can provide! This is such a sad time for so many and these poor kids are left to navigate through this without family and without a comfortable home and bed.

To my teacher friends:
Unfortunately because of my line of work I am overly aware of instances of domestic abuse and child abuse. Currently there are many children stuck in abusive homes who were formerly able to escape to normalcy at school.
When you are doing your check ins with students please stay vigilant for any cries for help.
One of my childrens teachers sent an email last week reporting the number of a child who called her personal number 3xs in the middle of the night, and my immediate fear was that that student needed help and has now been outed publicly by the teacher. Of course it's possible and even likely that this was a kid goofing around with the new knowledge of their teachers personal number. But I just ask that you stay mindful of the possible situations these kids are facing at home.
