“I chose the Law Offices of Kenneth Hiller based on Mr. Hiller’s decades of experience, positive online reviews, and his reputation as a fighter on behalf of his clients. Mr. Hiller’s staff always returned my calls and emails promptly. Mr. Hiller’s team believed in my claim and encouraged me not to give up. They carefully explained the legal process, appeal options, and time frames. In my opinion, the tenacity of Mr. Hiller’s team is unsurpassed. I would recommend that anyone who has had their career cut short by a disability to utilize the legal team of Kenneth Hiller.” - Carl from Buffalo Carl first applied for Social Security Benefits in 2013 due to cervical spondylosis, lumbar stenosis, and coronary artery disease, along with other serious impairments. Carl’s application was denied and our office quickly began the appeal process. We requested a hearing on Carl’s behalf and helped him gather medical records to support his claim. In 2016, one of our attorneys Kelly Laga-Sciandra represented Carl at his hearing before an Administrative Law Judge (“judge”) who found that Carl was not disabled. We discussed his options with him and encouraged him to continue to fight for benefits. We appealed the judge’s decision on Carl's behalf and continued to help gather more medical evidence to support his claim. In 2017, we filed a claim with the United States District Court on Carl’s behalf arguing that his claim was wrongfully denied. The District Court judge agreed with our arguments and remanded Carl’s case back to the Social Security Administration for a new hearing. We again represented Carl at his new hearing, which was held this June. A few weeks after the hearing, Carl received a decision from the judge that he was fully entitled to disability benefits, including retroactive benefits dating back to 2010 when he was first unable to work due to his medical conditions. The Social Security Disability Benefits process can seem never-ending and unmanageable. We will help you understand each step and will support you throughout the process. Should you hire a lawyer? Medical errors are more common than you think. According to one study, medical errors are the third most prevalent cause of death in the U.S., claiming over 250,000 lives each year. Many more suffer from devastating and life altering consequences. Yet, many are hesitant to hire a lawyer to investigate their case because they don’t want to rock the boat, or because of the respect they have for the medical profession. But here’s the deal: if you don’t stand up for yourself, you will be left to deal with all of the consequences of a medical error—lost wages, future medical expense, loss of enjoyment, and a lifetime of pain and suffering—all by yourself. And while the medical profession is deserving of respect, so are the patients they serve. If you don’t stand up for yourself and hire an attorney to investigate a medical error, nothing will stop the same thing from occurring to someone else. Don’t deal with a medical error alone. Please call us so that we can investigate and guide you through the legal process.
