I am Harry Burns, the Math Specialist for Marion County, and have been tutoring all subjects in mathematics in Ocala for 23 years. I am retired from Vanguard High School where I was instrumental in bringing the International Baccalaureate (IB) program to the Marion County School Board, and was the first IB math teacher. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Math from Arizona State University, a Masters of Education degree from the University of New Hampshire, and the Math Education Specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University. I did graduate studies for my doctorate at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and studied robotics at the University of Florida. I tutor at my home in all fields of mathematics, including, but not limited to, public school students, charter, private, and home school students; in algebra I/II, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, senior studies, general mathematics, and college courses in math, including the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery of tests (ASVAB) as well as General Education Development (GED) test preparation for math tutor.
