Dream a Little Dream with the Banjo Buddies who travelled by golf cart across our campus for multiple performances for our residents who watched from yards and balconies.
Music travelled to our safely distanced residents as the Banjo Buddies travelled by golf cart across our 45-acre campus to stop for multiple small, private performances for residents watching from their yards, balconies, or windows. Thank you, Banjo Buddies!
Our Highlands residents released a family of butterflies to fly free and The Moorings is even more beautiful with five pearl crescent butterflies fluttering about our 45 acres. Margi, our Director of Social Services, received an unexpected package of live caterpillars from a friend, so she raised them on a diet of bananas and sugar water until they cocooned, hatched, and were ready for our residents to set free. Thank you, Margi!

Vince Connelly, a legend at The Moorings, has been the Director of Environmental Services since its opening in 1988. Vince retires tomorrow, so our residents and staff sent him out with a bang - a tour of the campus waving to his friends who held up signs and yelled out their appreciation of all of Vince's work and friendship these last 32 years. Best wishes for your retirement, Vince. The Moorings won't be the same without you. <3
Thank you, Loretta, for your kind words about our Moorings' community and the measures we have taken to keep our residents safe during the pandemic!
Executive Director, Lisa Vandermark, talked turkey during our daily Moorings broadcast. 🦃

The Moorings staff donned some TERRIFYINGLY fun costumes for Halloween! 👻
Halloween was celebrated through all levels of care at The Moorings. Thiis included costumes and spooky fun, but what would Halloween be without a spooktacular Halloween menu of candy corn fruit cocktail, deviled egg brains, zombie ribs, bat wings, and dirt and worms for dessert!

The Moorings invited staff members to play in the snow and build snowpeople for the residents to enjoy. The first pictured Frosty was built by the Memory Care team and makes his temporary home on their balcony. Be on the lookout as other snow sculptures may be popping up around The Moorings Community. Do you want to build a snowman? We do! ☃️
Residents have SNOW much fun a The Moorings of Arlington Heights! ❄️☃️
Presbyterian Homes is proud to announce that our long-term care residents and staff at our Evanston location have been given their COVID-19 vaccination by a team of Walgreens clinicians. Thank you to the School of St. Mary Lake Forest, IL 8th-grade class who made sure that each of our residents has a Christmas card to open on Christmas Day, writing over 500 cards. And, thank you to our amazing staff member, Kara Atwood, for your help in making this project possible!
A drive-thru Holiday Parade is one of many creative and socially distanced celebrations that have kept the holiday season merry and bright at The Moorings. Residents' family members decorated their cars to spread holiday cheer to their loved ones and the staff joined in on the fun with costumes and decorated cars, golf carts, and company vehicles. Even Santa, driven by one of his elves made an appearance!
The Moorings is proud to be a community partner in supporting our local senior centers every year, but especially during this season of giving in this particularly difficult time.
