The city of Boca has issued shelter in place orders. That does not affect us. Same story.
Don’t come here if you are sick.
Wash your hands upon entering.
Take out is encouraged.
Practice social distancing.
Try to keep it at 10 people or less inside.
Be respectful of your fellow nakamalians and our staff.
We will stay open as long as the city allows us and/or as long as people are being smart and respectful.
We are sterilizing all contact surfaces with quaternary ammonia every 30 minutes and keeping the airflow as high as we can. We are sterilizing the floor daily but may increase that.
If we start to see sick people and people coughing we will become more strict but for now things are manageable because this is a small place and we can disinfect things thoroughly.
The Nak holds a retail convenience store license. With that being said I believe we are still allowed to operate but let’s not push it with the city until someone tells us not to. Same deal.
Do not come here if you are sick. We will deliver to you if you need it.
We are encouraging take out as much as possible.
Wash your hands upon entering.
Try to keep distance amongst one another.
Try to keep it at 10 people or less inside.
Don’t get into arguments with neighbors, police or city officials. Everyones nerves are on edge, be mindful of that.
If the staff ask you to step outside because it’s too crowded please do not give them a hard time.
We will remain open as long as we are allowed or as long as it makes sense. We may be forced to adapt and change our business model...
Stay healthy people! Wash your hands relentlessly!
Hello people. Here’s the deal... The governor has made another executive order. The Nak holds a retail convenience store license so technically we are exempt. On the other hand this orders purpose is to limit social gatherings of more than 10 people. We are in a tough spot here guys. We need to do what is right for the community. We will continue to encourage people to take things to go and limit it to 10 people at a time. Please be courteous to everyone if you are coming in and wash your hands upon entering. Try to keep some distance between each other. Stay outside and away from one another if possible. Stay in the sunlight while it’s out. If everyone is responsible I will not have to be a jerk and make stricter rules. If the staff says someone has to leave in order to enforce a 10 person limit please do not give them a hard time. None of us want to be the social police guys but it is our job to keep the kava flowing in a responsible fashion and this duty has been bestowed upon us unwillingly by nature and the governor. Be smart, be respectful, be patient and things will go much more smoothly. The staff are taking a risk even staying open at all I hope everyone recognizes that and thanks them. We will do this until we are told otherwise. Have a great day and stay healthy!
Good morning guys (it’s morning for me lol) I hope y’all are hanging in there. We’re gonna deal with this on a daily basis as we go. Here are my thoughts today. I’m 100% sure at this time we can LEGALLY be open as normal if we want. I am opting against that for now and carrying on as is. Reason being I did a lot of reading last night of scientific reports and I think this thing can get really bad if we’re not proactive. We have a duty as Americans to help suppress this virus. I firmly believe the social distancing will help. So for now here is what I am encouraging at The Nak-
• Please sanitize your hands upon entering by washing your hands or using hand sanitizer. This is a new social etiquette thing.
• Please take orders to go. You can have a couple shells but please limit your time spent at the bar. Share the space with your fellow Nak tribe members, they need socialization please.
• Please follow social distancing guidelines set by the government. They are based on solid science. With that in mind:
• Keep 6 ft apart whenever possible.
• No handshaking or hugging. Also social etiquette now.
• Keep the amount of people in the bar at 10 people or less. If new people show up and there are 10 people there, be polite and step outside to give them a chance.
• If the sun is out spend time in the sun. It will disinfect you. Being in the sun is the best place to be right now. When outside stay spread out please. We don’t want the neighbors worried that we’re being irresponsible or idiots.
If you guys can please do these things and self police it would be great. Don’t make myself or our staff have to ask you to do these things we are busy enough trying to keep the place afloat and none of us needs more stress.
If the police or city show up it is very important that no one is rude to them. I will talk to them. Do not under any circumstances get mouthy with them, that will not help.
We will remain open from noon until at least 12 am daily for now. If there are people there later we’ll stay if the girls want to but we should all be mindful of limiting our time in public spaces to try and suppress this virus so we don’t end up with a shelter in place order for months.
This can get worse if we don’t try to make it better. Be responsible. Be kind. Be patient. Be flexible. Adapt.
Thank you kindly for your continued support and cooperation we will get through this. If you have questions I will do my best to answer them.
By executive order The Nak is now closed for 30 days except for take out or delivery. We will be open from noon until at least 10 pm daily. We will adapt to this unprecedented situation. We we will overcome it.
