17 Safety Measures at Assisted Living Communities
Our Culinary Garden volunteers ended the season recently by thanking all whose work resulted in a harvest of over 300 pounds of organic veggies, fruit and herbs! A special thanks to Suzanne Brown who organized this season’s gardening effort, horticulturist Alan Gorkin and Terri Browne-Kutzen, Chair of the Greenwich Community Garden Club. Greenwich Symphony Orchestra's Brass Quintet brings music to the Witherell
A big thank you to the Greenwich Botanical Center for donating plants and fall decor to the Witherell for fall foliage arranging. Our residents had a wonderful afternoon indulging their “green thumb” by creating plant boxes complete with earthy of Fall colors.
October was a festive month at the Witherell which included an Oktoberfest celebration! Our outdoor courtyard festivities included the traditional pretzels -- a classic Oktoberfest snack -- hats and music. The German version of “Cheers” is “Prost” (yep, it rhymes with toast!).
Check out all of the creative carved pumpkins from this year's Halloween celebration! While they are all winners, 1st prize went to Mike Rinaldi for his disco ball complete with strobe lights. Congrats to all the talented carvers!
Halloween was a big (socially distanced) hit here at the Witherell, as our staff dressed up and mounted a parade to the delight of our residents! The winning costume went to our skeleton brides--staff members Carissa, Justine, Gail & Amy. Congrats to all!
