Todd B. Edmiston, M.D.
Hip, Knee, Joint Replacement and Sports Medicine Specialist
Dr. Edmiston, a joint replacement and sports medicine specialist, completed his undergraduate degree at Washington State University. Before entering medical school he spent eight years as a corpsman in the Coast Guard. He received a master’s degree in biology and his medical degree from the University of South Alabama. Following an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of South Alabama, Dr. Edmiston received advanced fellowship training in Joint Replacement and Sports Medicine at the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Clinic of Alabama, P.C.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Edmiston’s practice focuses on joint replacement and sports medicine.
Dr. Edmiston offers a minimally invasive procedure—TENEX Health TX—in which he can break up and remove damaged tissue, which is the cause of most chronic tendon-related pain. This pain is often associated with rotator cuff, Tennis or Golfer’s elbow, Runner’s or Jumper’s knee, Achilles tendonitis and Plantar fasciitis. This advanced technique, developed in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, leaves healthy, soft tissue undisturbed. It takes only a few minutes, and no sutures or stitches are needed.
Dr. Edmiston lives in Baldwin County, where he enjoys sports and other activities with his wife and four sons. He is a longtime supporter of the Christian Medical Ministry of South Alabama.
