Thank you to all of the families, friends, staff, and residents who supported the Preserve as we walked to end Alzheimer’s today! We missed having our loved ones with us this morning, but they sent us some words of encouragement!!

Today was the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. What a successful event we had. We gathered a group of 31 staff and residents and hit the streets. It was a beautiful one mile walk down Hercules.
The residents did great!
We have raised over $3700 so far but are still shooting for $5000. Checks are still coming in and we still have plenty of peacock masks for sale.
Our owners each contributed $250 to this great cause. Thank you Steve and Adam!
And thank you to everyone for all of your love and support. We greatly appreciate our families and friends.

Enjoying a social distanced happy hour. One of our residents asked me if she could hug me. She was having a hard day. Another resident overhead the conversation and said, “that’s the one thing I miss the most, the hugs of my children.” Not only our community but communities in senior living all over are doing there best to show love, care and compassion while keeping the senior population safe. It is by far the biggest challenge we face everyday. We are well over 7 months of this pandemic and we hope to some day see changes so we can once again gives hugs all around. Happy hour with Gina truly does light up their day! To all of our family and friends, continue to stay healthy and safe! We love and miss you!!! It’s the smallest things that make your heart warm like seeing a resident who thought she couldn’t walk anymore stand up and walk all because her therapist whispered to her, “oh yes you can and you will.” Keystone Rehab Services is by far the best therapy provider in the area. Grand reopening of our socially distanced dining room for Sunday dinner! We did it! The food was great and the residents were very happy to be out of their apartment and back with their friends.

It’s a boy!💙 On Inspirations, we celebrated our wonderful med tech Marqueta and her sweet baby boy! Khalil was welcomed into the world a little earlier than expected, and since then, Marqueta has been working full time, caring for her family, and spending time with Khalil in the NICU as he grows stronger every day! We had so much fun showering Marqueta and preparing for him to come home right around the holidays! Thank you to all of our family and friends who dropped off gifts and sent well wishes to Marqueta and Khalil, we appreciate you all. Best of luck to Marqueta and her family!

Santa’s helpers have been hard at work on Inspirations! Every resident was picked in a “Secret Santa” gift exchange, picked out a gift, and wrapped it for their friend to open on Christmas Eve! We are excited to celebrate together here at the Preserve and hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
