THE BEST STAFF EVER ALERT: As we celebrate National Assisted Living Week, we want to take the time to honor our amazing staff. WE HAVE HOPE ALERT: Every October, The Regency Assisted Living
conducts a WEAR YOUR JEANS THURSDAYS fundraiser. The staff and residents wear their favorite jeans every Thursday for the month of October and pay $5.00 each time. At the end of the month, the collected funds are donated to Glen Cove C.A.R.E.S., a local organization offering support to Breast Cancer survivors. "It is a reminder for every woman to get a mammogram as well!", Resident Leatrice Lees shared. Meredith LaScala, our Recreation Director and her team also incorporated wearing pink in support of the WEAR PINK organization. "Celebrating survivors and bringing awareness is what we wanted to do!" BEER ALERT: "Vielen Danke" Even though Oktoberfest 2020 was cancelled in Germany, The Regency did not disappoint. Thank you Team Recreation for an awesome day of German folksongs, pretzels and of course, imported beer! The day concluded with a photo shoot with giant size beer steins and pretzels to fill our Regency scrapbook with. "I loved the pretzels and could have kept eating them. NO ONE IS EVER FORGOTTEN ALERT: Resident Ralph Panetta wasn't up to coming down to our Veteran Ceremony but that didn't stop us from celebrating one of our favorite people. Staff visited 99 year old Ralph throughout the day to thank him for his service to our country. Even this morning, Maria Silva, our beloved hostess brought him his favorite treat from Dunkin Donuts. Thank you to Glen Cove Mayor Tim Tenke for taking time out of his busy day to personally call Ralph last night. "I can't stop smiling. The Mayor called me on my home phone from his home to thank me for my service in the United States Air Force. Even though he didn't see me, I saluted him when I got off the phone!
