Employee Appreciation Spirit Week is a time to applaud the team members here at The Rivers Grosse Pointe who play a crucial role improving the health and wellness of our residents, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you #RiversFamily for all you do.
We are not slowing down around here. Our residents have been keeping busy with gardening, swimming, reading, pumpkin painting and more! Happy Friday!

We all need a little help sometimes. A respite stay at The Rivers of Grosse Pointe is much more than a visit. It can be a break for dedicated caregivers, a place to call home after an unforeseen event or a way to give senior living a try. Our respite guests enjoy the same amenities as residents: private suites, delicious meals, activities, and more. Call to learn more: 313-885-5005 or visit https://www.theriversgrossepointe.com/lifestyles/assisted-living/.
Here are some hilights from our week at The Rivers of Grosse Pointe. Sydney our Activities Director has been really thinking outside of the box with her themed activity carts that go door to door. We wrapped up the week with beer and bingo. It has been awhile since they have been able to play bingo and it was so nice to see all of our residents enjoy themselves.
We brought Oktoberfest to our residents yesterday. A big thanks to our resident Joanne for assisting Sarah and helping her deliver beer, pretzels, and apple streusel door to door to her fellow neighbors.
We've been busy boo'ing our residents. They will be surprised with the tricks and treats left at their doors.
We brought a little nostalgia to our residents with the I Love Lucy cart last Thursday. I Love Lucy premiered on October 15, 1951 and has become one of the most beloved shows in television history. The cart was filled with wine, chocolates, and laughter. Sydney our activities director even got into character for this one and dressed up as Lucy.
During these times it is so important to help bring a smile to someone's face. Thanks to our staff we were able to do this for our residents.
Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people. – Roy T. Bennett
There have been some busy elves around here decorating and making sure our community is looking festive and getting everyong into the Christmas spirit.
“What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future.” – Agnes M. Pahro
The past couple of days have been filled with love and celebrations for our residents with door to door treat deliveries.
