In this position, you would be working between our commercial Fire Alarm Divison and Electronic Security Division (which includes but not limited to: Camera Surveillance, Door Access, Intrusion Alarm Systems, etc)
Technicians must be organized, positive, be critical thinkers, and have the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively and efficiently, all while providing our clients with an exceptional experience.
Technicians are assigned specialty tools to perform their tasks but shall provide all hand tools and power drills/hammer drill/impact driver etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Install and service Fire & Security Systems, Access Control Systems, Networked Camera Surveillance Systems, and much more
• Install wiring and low voltage Security Devices
• Maintain very detailed records/documents of work performed
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
*Must be able to climb up and down ladders, including extension ladders - all-day
*Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs
*Must be able to carry tools and ladders up and down stairs etc
*Work with your hands above your head
*Passion for customer service and a very high quality of work
*Troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
*Previous experience with networking devices, systems, and IT processes
*Ability to pull/fish wire in commercial and residential atmospheres
*A high school diploma and relevant electronics technical training
*Ability to work unsupervised and exhibit good time management
*We will consider a similar technical field or have 2-3-year field experience with a vocational school degree
*Must possess a valid driver's license...required
*Clean driving & criminal record required *We do thorough background checks

I wanted to take a moment and share this really cool and unique project we just finished up last week at an absolutely gorgeous Mansion dating back to 1904. Located in Burke (which is such a beautiful area!) this home used to be a private residence in the past....now, after recent renovations, it is a (14) room luxury bed and breakfast.
For a number of months, Keith worked very closely with both the Fire Engineer and the new owner of this property to design the Fire Alarm System. This new Fire System involves some of the newest and most sophisticated technology in the Commercial Fire Alarm Industry today.
We installed a brand new Gamewell-FCI S3 Fully Addressable Fire Alarm System with the new 'SWIFT' Wireless (Initiating and Notification) and VESDA Aspiration System for very early smoke detection.
'SWIFT' is a brand new wireless technology in the Commercial Fire Alarm industry. This allows us to have UL Listed wireless Fire Alarm Pull Stations, Smoke Detectors, and Horn Strobe Notification Appliances
The Fire engineer that designed this system utilized old iron piping to light fixtures as the VESDA Air Sampling points (very unique). The VESDA unit performs a 14-day auto-learn where it calibrates the normal air quality & flow of its environment in order to set proper alarm thresholds.
The touchscreen annunciator near reception has a custom-built backbox and trim to match the aesthetic of this luxury B&B.

This was a really fun, joint effort project between our Rutland and Burlington office. Our Safe & Vault division retrofitted an electronic keypad on a older MOSLER walk in vault. However, the cool part about this is that the vault keypad is not active and will not unlock until you present a valid card credential to the Card Reader shown in the video
This card reader is connected to an enterprise door access software. We programmed this system to enable to vault keypad to accept a code and unlock after a valid credential is read/accepted by the card reader
Yes, we defaulted the vault code for the purpose of this video 🤓 🔐
Well we had a cool start to the week! We got to open an 1870’s safe this morning!
We have implemented the new HID mobile credential app with the Alarm.com cloud based Door Access system at our office
Use your Apple Watch or smart phone as a secure and encrypted smart credential for door access!
We are really excited to begin testing and using this in-house (in both our Rutland and Essex Offices) then rolling out to our customers once we have signed off on it.

We are working on a very cool and really fun project for Burlington Surf Club. As part of this project, we did a live view, 4K Camera featuring a weather overlay
The live video feed will be useful to sailors, windsurfers, kiters, etc. to see the amount of wind “texture” on the water. It is also useful to see the wind direction.

Today we wrapped up a week-long Fire Alarm project in the Middlebury area. This was a retrofit upgrade of an existing legacy conventional system.
Keith and Greg installed a brand new fully addressable Fire System with a number of additions in order to meet current code requirements. The guys did an amazing job executing this project 🔥👏
Last week we finished up a 6-Day cut-over of a pretty good-sized Door Access System in the local area.
This project encompassed (5) Floors, (36) Doors of Card Access, Building Lockdown with visual blue light notification, and activation of a voice message over their PA system.
Jonas and Joel really rocked this project and executed everything seamlessly. 👏😊
We didn't get a ton of photos on this project due to the tight timeline... but here is a photo of us in the middle of wiring up one of the new door controllers.
Our Glass Dept. just finished installing some new Storm Windows for one of our local customers in the Rutland area. Great job guys! 👏

Our company’s vision and passion to serve our customers is clear - and now so are our new display windows! This week was a huge success. We uncovered a total of 9 broken windows on the front of the shop that have been boarded up for decades.
We owe a huge thank you and shout out to the glass department at The Royal Group, for rushing our glass order so the shop wasn’t open to the elements overnight. In all of a few hours, the team was able to cut and deliver all 9 pieces of glass!
