As a dedicated board-certified podiatrist with an extensive foot and ankle surgical background, Julie Schottenstein, DPM, is a trusted leader in the field of podiatry. Dr. Schottenstein offers innovative treatments at her state-of-the-art practice, The Schottenstein Center, which has two convenient locations in Miami and Hollywood, Florida.
After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Boston University, Dr. Schottenstein was accepted into graduate school. She earned her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Dr. Schottenstein stayed at the same institution to finish her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the School of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in the top 10% of her class.
Dr. Schottenstein received extensive foot and ankle surgical training during her residency program through the Miami Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. Throughout her residency training, Dr. Schottenstein focused on reconstructive surgery, trauma care, sports medicine, diabetic limb salvage, and wound care.
Following her residency, Dr. Schottenstein completed a Foot and Ankle Fellowship of South Florida program, where she gained advanced training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. Dr. Schottenstein currently serves as a clinical faculty member for the fellowship program. She also teaches incoming podiatry students at five additional local residency programs.
Dr. Schottenstein is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. She’s also an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Not only does Dr. Schottenstein have an extensive surgical background, but she’s also able to care for patients who have acute injuries, ingrown toenails, bunions, and plantar fasciitis.
Patients of Dr. Schottenstein appreciate her willingness to educate them about their conditions and various paths of treatment. Dr. Schottenstein even helps patients with legal issues and insurance claims, including personal injury protection (PIP) after an accident, so patients don’t have to wait another day to receive the treatment they need.
