Gil Coleman, DC, is an experienced and dedicated chiropractor serving men and women in and around Fort Collins, Colorado, at The Wellness Center For Sport and Spine. Dr. Coleman does “whatever it takes” to help his patients lead pain-free, healthy lives. His commitment to his patients’ care is what drives his success with those who have seen countless other doctors without finding relief.
Dr. Coleman completed his Bachelor of Science in biology at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, Georgia.
Dr. Coleman drew inspiration from his father’s choice to combine alternative medicine with conventional care as he fought cancer — a decision that allowed him to outlive his doctors’ initial life expectancy prediction significantly. It made such an impact on Dr. Coleman that he reinvented his practice and his approach to his patients’ care.
His determination means never giving up on challenging health conditions and helping his patients improve their overall health while also addressing the painful condition that brought them to his practice. Dr. Coleman prides himself on being the last doctor his patients need to see.
Dr. Coleman typically spends 30-60 minutes with existing patients and about an hour with patients who are new to his practice. Patients who return for a periodic tune-up can expect their appointment to take 10-15 minutes. He listens to each patient and performs careful examinations, using his 30 years of experience and knowledge to create personalized treatment plans.
Dr. Coleman is an evidence-based practitioner. With more complex situations, he often recommends several methods on the same visit to accelerate results. His approach includes chiropractic care, cold laser therapy, spinal decompression, physical therapy, myofascial release, and therapeutic stretching and exercise. He is one of the relatively few chiropractors who is skilled using the Sacro Occipital Technique and specifically cranial meningeal release therapy — commonly called cranial adjustments.
Away from his practice, Dr. Coleman spends time traveling with his girlfriend, cycling, fly fishing, and living an active lifestyle outdoors. He’s also passionate about photography and focuses on capturing the beauty of natural landscapes in Colorado and other parts of the country. You can see his self-published book of nature photography on the front desk of his office.
