Fall is here! Today at 9:31 AM, the Sun passed the equator from North to South, signaling the official start of Fall in the Northern Hemisphere, also known as the Autumn Equinox. Today our daylight and nighttime hours are of roughly the same length, but due to the Earth's position around the Sun, our daylight hours will now grow shorter and our nighttime longer. This will continue until the Winter Solstice in December.
Happy Autumn! What are you most excited about with this change in seasons?
As we enter this new meteorological season we are also entering a new season at The Works. We are only a week and a half away from Opening Day, our Streetscape & History Walk Celebration, and Pumpkins in the Courtyard, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you back for these long-awaited events!
Our Works@Home Kits are FILLED with exciting activities and experiments that promote STEM learning and creativity!
Visit our website to order your Works@Home Kit today! Pick-up will be Friday and Saturday, September 25 & 26. Free porch drop-off is available in Licking County! Email education@attheworks.org for more details.⠀

One of our Founder's missions was to ensure that art was always available to anyone who wished to enjoy it. Our Main Gallery is always open to the public, free of charge, during our open hours. The current exhibit in the Main Gallery, "No Mere Button-Pressers," showcases the incredible photography of Clarence H. White, Ema Spencer, and the Newark Camera Club.
"No Mere Button-Pressers" is a joint exhibition by The Works and the Columbus Museum of Art. Stop by The Works, Thursday-Saturday, 9 AM-12 PM & 1-4 PM, and the Columbus Museum of Art, Tuesday-Sunday, and step into history and experience life in Central Ohio at the turn of the century through the lenses of these trailblazers in photography.
Made possible by Denison University and Ohio Humanities.

Arnold Palmer once said, "Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated." We wonder if Alan Shepard would say the same after becoming the first person to play golf (an appropriate game for their stay in the lunar highlands) on the moon 50 years ago today!
