Therapy Center East opened in Conyers in 1997 at the request of a local surgeon who needed a therapist with hand expertise and experience. We have grown from a one person, part time office to a full time office with over five staff members who specialize in problems of the muscles, bones and joints of the arms, legs, back and neck, and nerve disorders.
We serve patients with problems across all ages, from infants to senior citizens. Clinical staff have extensive experience and education, including a Certified Hand Therapist, a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist, a Certified Orthopedic (physical therapy) Specialist, a previous instructor of therapy for the jaw (T M J), head and neck and headaches, and a specialist in injuries to nerves and chronic pain problems. In short, clinical expertise for difficult problems is a keystone in our patient care.
Our philosophy is to provide a clinical resource to the community to treat problems both simple and difficult. The office is friendly and helpful, which is part of the healing experience. Patients will receive a straightforward, welcoming approach to evaluating, explaining and treating their conditions.
Our treatment space consists of an exercise room, a hand therapy area, three private treatment rooms and staff offices.
We have a wide range of therapy equipment adaptable to numerous problems and conditions. Exercises are primarily functional movement based and not primarily muscle based equipment. Important therapy modalities include ultrasound, multiple types of electrical stimulation devices, paraffin, hot packs, cold packs, ice, small whirlpool and traction. Splinting equipment and supplies for customized hand and arm conditions are also present in the office.
