OK so we know that if you go to buy a car you can spec the exact same options and go to several dealerships and get the best deal because you are comparing apples to apples. Not so when it comes to contractors. No 2 contractors are going to see a job exactly the same way or use the same materials or have the same overhead. Pick your contractor with the following criteria. How long in business, whats their BBB rating, reviews or references, does he have a strong presence in the community I.E. a brick and mortar facility and not least - do you seem to communicate with and get along well them? Cheapest in the construction world will get you cheap work. No need to get 6 or 7 estimates - expect to pay for quality. thank you - jwg
