Thrive Pain Management is a full-service pain care resource serving men and women from in and around Irving, Texas. The practice is home to Teddrick Dunson, MD, an interventional pain management physician with a passion for restoring pain-free function. 
Dr. Dunson earned his medical degree at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He went on to complete an internship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC, exploring numerous specialties, including internal medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, cardiology, emergency medicine, and general surgery. 
His next steps took him to an anesthesiology residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. There he remained on staff as an anesthesiologist before completing a fellowship in pain medicine at the University of California, Davis. 
Double board-certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology, Dr. Dunson is dedicated to remaining on the cutting edge of pain science. While recognizing that prescription pain medication can play an important role in pain management, he looks beyond drug therapy to find treatments that deliver lasting results without the risk of side effects and addiction, such as regenerative medicine.
Advancements in medical technology have revolutionized pain medicine, and Thrive Pain Management offers some of the very best diagnostic and treatment platforms on the market. From scheduling and recordkeeping to digital imaging, guided injections, and spinal cord stimulation, all aspects of the practice incorporate outstanding medical technology.

Treatments for different types of headaches may include over-the-counter pain medication, effective therapy for allergies, or various therapies to reduce the muscular stress and strain responsible for tension headaches. Another type of headache is the cervicogenic headache (CGH), which arises from problems within the cervical spine (neck). This type of headache requires a different treatment approach than other kinds and may respond well to epidural steroid injections. What causes cervicogenic headaches? CGHs are characterized as secondary headaches which are caused by underlying issues that irritate and inflame nerves, muscles, and other tissue structures in the cervical spine. These conditions include: 1. Whiplash injury or other trauma 2. Rheumatoid arthritis 3. Osteoarthritis 4. Nerve irritation and inflammation caused by herniated disc/degenerative disc disease CGH can be difficult to diagnose because the symptoms may be felt in the head rather than the neck and often mimic other types of headaches, including migraine and tension headaches. #headache #cervicogenic
