Dr. Timothy Canan is an interventional cardiologist who practices primarily in Ventura. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases. His clinical and procedural interests include complex coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, echocardiography, sports cardiology, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), balloon valvuloplasty, patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure and CardioMEMS implantation.
Dr. Canan received his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiovascular diseases in interventional cardiology at UCLA, and earned his bachelor�s degree in bioengineering from UCLA.
In addition to his clinical duties at UCLA Health, Dr. Canan also participates in global health research and outreach through Partners in Hope in Malawi, Africa, where he uses ultrasound technology to evaluate patients in this resource-limited setting for heart disease and complications of HIV and tuberculosis.
Dr. Canan grew up in Sacramento. In his free time, he loves to travel and is an avid cyclist and runner.
