How Tommy’s Taxi is Helping to Keep You Safe during the COVID-19 Crisis
These are stressful times for everyone, so when you step inside of a Tommy’s Taxi, it helps to know that the vehicle you are riding in has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
Here is what we are doing:
• Drivers are wearing masks and gloves. (And you should be wearing a mask also – it’s required!)
• Drivers are supplied with disinfectant wipes every day, and wipe down the common surfaces of their taxis before their shift starts, and between every trip. They wipe the door handles inside and out, the doors and armrests, the backs of the seats, and the credit card machine. In the driver area, they also wipe down the steering wheel, meter, radio microphone, and anything else they may touch.
• Every vehicle has a plastic partition to separate the driver area from the back seat. These are also wiped down throughout the day.
• Every vehicle is “fogged” with a hospital grade disinfectant at least once a day. The fog is a mist that gets into all the surfaces of the interior. It dries quickly and leaves very little residue.
• Every driver has a spray bottle of hospital-grade disinfectant to further clean his taxi as needed.
• Every driver is provided with a bottle of hand-sanitizer.
As our local economy begins to rebound, and there are more places to go, we hope that you will feel safe and protected in a Tommy’s taxicab. We are doing our best to follow the CDC and OSHA guidelines.
We’d like you to remember that Tommy’s Taxi is locally-owned, and has been serving our community since we were founded in 1946. We have operated safely throughout the COVID-19 crisis and plan to continue to do so.
Finally, we want to remind you that our drivers are employees. Unlike rideshare drivers, who are independent contractors, Tommy’s Taxi drivers are required to follow the company’s safety protocols for sanitizing and cleaning. Our drivers are supervised directly by their dispatcher in our Framingham location, and the owner of the company is on-site daily.

Our drivers are employees (not independednt contractors) -- we supply the vehicle, the fuel, the insurance and the trips.
