Cats rub against us and scratch as a form of communication! They have scent glands on their cheeks and paws, so rubbing against us or scratching on vertical surfaces transfers their scent.
Rylee is our sweet patient of the week! He came in because he has vomited up an earring and his mom was unsure if he had eaten anything else. Well apparently he had! Rylee was also anemic which means a low red blood cell count. We had suspected based on his RBC count and the x rays that he had ingested some coins. Pennies made after 1982 contain zinc which can cause destruction of red blood cells and can be life threatening if not removed quickly enough. So Rylee was taken to surgery immediately and a 2019 penny was found along with a dime! Rylee did so great and his RBC count immediately started coming back up after surgery!
Trimming your dog’s nails play a vital role in maintaining your dog’s health! Neglected nails not only drive you up the wall with their continuous clicking across the floor, but can also cause health problems in your dog.
Do you have a reclining chair? Young puppies and kittens love to run under and hide in reclining chairs. Kittens are especially likely to climb up inside the chair and curl up for a nap, so be sure to check where your pet is before reclining!
We have immediate openings for receptionist positions. Please apply in person. No phone calls.
The bond between you and your dog can benefit your health! Your stress will be significantly lower with a dog and you may even be more active due to a dog’s need for exercise! To return the favor and improve your pet’s health, call today!
If your cat has allergies they are most likely exhibiting one or more symptoms! Constant itching, watery eyes, and sneezing are sign your cat may have allergies! To learn more about the root of your cat’s scratching, call today!
We are in need of newspaper if you have any to donate! Thank you!
Your dog may not be showing any symptoms of oral health problems! Dogs can endure a severe amount of pain before a symptom is noticeable to you! Routine dental exams can help keep an accurate benchmark on your dog’s oral health!
The most common cause of cloudy eyes in senior pets is cataracts. However, there are some other conditions that can also create a cloudy appearance in your pet's eyes that require immediate attention. If you have an older pet and have recently notice their eyes are cloudy, call today.
