On April 1, 1981, Dr. John Hammons bought an existing veterinary practice and opened Town & Country Animal Hospital. Dr. Hammons practiced large animal medicine along with small animal medicine until 1988. The farm animal portion of the practice included farm calls, haul-in facilities with hospitalization capabilities, and stockyard testing.
After ceasing large animal practice, Town & Country Animal Hospital began concentrating on providing more comprehensive treatment for small animal companions. Over the years with the growth of the practice, the hospital interior was renovated to better utilize the limited space available. A part of the barn that was part of the practice buildings was transitioned into a boarding facility to expand our services.
Throughout the years, there have been other veterinarians who have worked with Dr. Hammons. Presently, Dr. Carson Edgmon and Dr. Shannon Johnson assist in the care of our patients and in the growth of our practice.
