Can you imagine hauling a car out of a ditch with blocks, tackle, and rope? That’s exactly what Ernest Holmes from Chattanooga, Tennessee did in 1916 to pull a car out of a creek. The job took 6 men and 8 hours to do, and inspired him to invent the first tow truck.
It’s hard to let go of your faithful old car. However, at some point, it does not make financial sense to keep repairing a car that's value has dropped. A car recycling program can offer you cash on the spot and tow your car from any location.
It appears that loaded tractor-trailers take 20-40% farther than cars to stop, but truck towing professional can fix your problem, if you get into the accident.
We recognize that some types of vehicle issues simply can’t wait a few days – or even until morning – to be repaired. Whether you’re worried about driving your car before it’s repaired or it stopped working while you were on the road, we’re here for you.
Did you know that the most effective way to discourage car thieves is to take your keys out of the ignition? Sounds like a “Duh” observation, but over ninety per cent of car thefts are due to just such an oversight. It also prevents locking yourself out.
In 2012, junk cars and automotive scrap achieved a 92.5 percent recycle rate, the highest in the recycling industry. As a result, the equivalent of 11.5 million cars and more than 16.3 million tons of steel were recycled, repurposed, and reused.
We recognize that certain issues with vehicles can become so severe so quickly that it’s not even safe to drive them to our location. In these instances, it’s always a good idea to let a tow truck handle the transport.
Whether it's because of a collision or because your car broke down, there can be a variety of reasons you need to get your car to a repair center, and most of them keep the car from driving there. Fortunately, a towing service can take your car there for you.
The best thing that you can do to prevent breakdowns is the right regular maintenance, but it’s not always as effective as it could be. Fortunately, semi truck towing can step in whenever things go wrong to help you get the truck rolling.
What kind of qualities do you look for in a tow truck company?
Although the number of buses and trucks has increased considerably in the last 20 years, the number of accidents remains steady. Still, 4,000 accidents a year is a significant number, and damaged vehicles must be hauled from the road.
In his happy place.!
It is with a heavy heart that we have to say that our dad has passed! Ken Smith Sr... aka.... ‘Smitty’ the legend, who was told 3 yrs ago that he had 6 months to live, and replied to the doctor..... thank you for all you have done, but I am going home and I am going to live a few more years! Well, He made his mind up and he did it! We are thankful for the extra years we had with him. He took some time to recuperate and came back to work! 89.5 at the time. He came to work every day thereafter.... the first one there and he stayed till we closed. He missed getting in to his beloved truck tho..... but who can say they drove a heavy duty tow truck until 89.5! That man could back into any small space with a truck and trailer in one shot! He had a map in his brain, and when asked directions he would look up to the side and tell you every street and landmark that would be encountered on the way to your destination! Uncanny! Not many people know that when he served in the military as a young man, he was assigned to the Marshall Islands on a ship, his assignment was to wait for the planes to drop a hydrogen bomb on the island of ‘ENEWETAK’ when that was done, he and a few other servicemen were flown over via helicopter and left on the island with no protection! All they had was a Geiger counter to measure the level of radiation. Needless to say it went off the chart! Much greater than they could imagine. Everyone from his mission passed from cancer, he was the lone survivor! It tells you a lot of the strength this man had! He was a tough guy! He was smart! He loved all his children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren! He loved his siblings.... and most of all he loved his wife with all his heart, but lost her at a young age. She would have been proud of him for for carrying on with all the traditions that she held dear! He never forgot a birthday (and it’s a big family) Christmas, and he tried his best to keep up to Easter dinners..... even if it was in a restaurant. He left us with a strong sense what is right, impeccable work ethics, To stand up to those who want to dim your light, but mostly he left us with a whole lot of love. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, we have a lot to be thankful for, even in these times with Covid 19, and all the other crazy things that are going on in our world! If you could just take some time and look around at all the good things that we all still have, our family and friends, the big and small blessings that we still have in our lives..... and maybe say a little prayer for ‘Smitty’! It was an honor for both Ken Sr and Jr to serve their loyal customers, the Police, State Police, and the many businesses that they have taken care of over the years! We will continue to Maintain that level of service. #RIPSMITTY Ken and Donna Smith

I wanted to share a “Smitty” story. Tow Times Magazine ran a story about him in 2013. I wrote a story about him for the reporter. He drove to Chattanooga to pick up a truck they bought and the reporter met him there. Sorry if it’s long..... He was a legend by then..... going on 84 yrs... still driving a Peterbilt!
