Rodney Stilwell Esq.Rodney Stilwell Esq. is a native Staten Islander. He resides in the Westerleigh section of the Island with his wife Jane and children Elizabeth (14), Jacqueline (12), Kristen (10) and Thomas (5). His parents, Mr. Stanley Stilwell and Mrs. Anne Scarmadella Stilwell, were both teachers in the Staten Island Board of Education. He is responsible for all aspects of litigation matters from intake to appeal, including personal injuries, dog bites, slip and fall, auto accidents, construction site and ladder accidents, contract disputes, property disputes and health insurance matters, among others. He also handles matters involving excessive force and civil rights violations by members of law enforcement. Raised in Staten Island, Guy spent the first 12 years of his professional life as a police officer, first with the NYPD, and later in Florida. He rose quickly through the ranks as a detective and then sergeant, and became one of his department's SWAT team leaders. As a sergeant, Guy led initiatives to collect, organize and analyze crime statistics to predict and respond to crime trends, resulting in scores of arrests. Guy also oversaw several training initiatives, including new officer field training. As a rappel master and tactical instructor, Guy trained and led officers in high risk warrant execution, and responses to armed hostage situations including those in buildings, airplanes and buses. Guy left the police department in 2004 to attend law school at the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. During law school, he worked for Judge Susan K.
