The MORE Act was voted on and passed in the House of Representatives today! This is a great step in Cannabis reform. It will need to be voted on and approved by the Senate and eventually signed by the President. Here is what the bill addresses: This bill decriminalizes marijuana. Specifically, it removes marijuana from the list of scheduled substances under the Controlled Substances Act and eliminates criminal penalties for an individual who manufactures, distributes, or possesses marijuana. The bill also makes other changes, including the following: replaces statutory references to marijuana and marihuana with cannabis, requires the Bureau of Labor Statistics to regularly publish demographic data on cannabis business owners and employees, establishes a trust fund to support various programs and services for individuals and businesses in communities impacted by the war on drugs, imposes a 5% tax on cannabis products and requires revenues to be deposited into the trust fund, makes Small Business Administration loans and services available to entities that are cannabis-related legitimate businesses or service providers, prohibits the denial of federal public benefits to a person on the basis of certain cannabis-related conduct or convictions, prohibits the denial of benefits and protections under immigration laws on the basis of a cannabis-related event (e.g., conduct or a conviction), and establishes a process to expunge convictions and conduct sentencing review hearings related to federal cannabis offenses.

9 years ago today, Tree Huggers Co-op became a La Crosse "Brick-and-Mortar" store...literally...we've been in two brick buildings now :) Looking back on those 9+ years, its wild to think of the friends and family we've built lasting relationships with, the ups and downs of being a small business in the ever changing world we live in, the fun we've had and of course what we've built so far and what we set out to accomplish from this day forward. Happy Friday everyone! We wanted to give a big SHOUT OUT, CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to Brandon Heins! For those of you that don't know Brandon, he holds a very special place in hearts here at Tree Huggers Co-op. Sara and Brent met Brandon after Brent was in a serious car accident. "I was struggling to keep Tree Huggers alive while working two jobs (Del's Bar and Tree Huggers Co-op" Sara Viner recalls. Brandon started ELV8D Entertainment and was hosting EDM shows at the Concordia Ballroom in La Crosse. He walked into our store, introduced himself and invited us to set up a vendor booth at one of his shows. Sara organized a team of Quin Marie Coleman and @Reed Welch to help. We did REALLY WELL, and formed a solid lasting friendship with Brandon and the EDM community in our area. Brandon also introduced us to the 515 Alive Music Festival team, Megan Hamilton , Chuck and Ricky...you know who you are. Meeting them gave our business a new direction and the love and support we received will never be forgotten. We ended up doing about ten shows with ELV8D Entertainment and continue to work with the 515 team. Brandon later came on board for a few years to help step our social media game up, which we will always be grateful for! We want to CONGRATULATE Brandon on his new career endeavors in Madison, WI, his engagement to his amazing fiancé Alanna Larlee, and to your new adventures in life! We are so happy to add another lil Tree Hugger to our family. Congrats Dillon and Katie.. Dillon Beyer is with Katie Mae. February 22 at 10:52 AM · Well our little guy almost got to share a Birthday with his Grandpa Stevie, but instead he wanted to make things a little difficult for Mom, and we know boys will do that sometimes. Theodore (Theo) Stephen Beyer made his debut at 5:05am on 2-21-21! Mom has been relaxing and recovering smoothly. We have had an All-Star team of Doctors and Nurses at Gundersen Health System looking over Baby Theo and Mom and look forward to getting our little peanut home in the next day or so! Thank you to everyone that reached out that were thinking of us and to those of you that have been on the journey with us so far, you know who you are. It was Sara that strongly advocated for Tree Huggers to begin to focus on CBD products, due to her passionate enthusiasm for the plant and it's benefits.
